Former U.S. President Barack Obama made a trip to Hyde Park Hair Salon on Chicago’s South Side, where his longtime barber, Zariff, styled his signature low fade a look he has kept for more than twenty years.
Zariff, who famously traveled to Washington during Obama’s presidency to maintain his haircut which then cost $21 warmly welcomed him back as the neighborhood buzzed with excitement.
This visit coincided with the nearing completion of the Obama Presidential Center, set to open in June 2026 just a short distance away. The video captured Obama engaging in heartfelt conversations with the staff and patrons, creating a nostalgic moment that many viewers felt was a simple yet powerful return to his Chicago beginnings.
