‘No One Can Pressure Me’ — Pastor Kumuyi Responds to Successor Debate

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Bible Church, Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi, has dismissed subtle calls for his retirement, insisting that the decision on his successor rests solely with God.

Speaking during a recent Tuesday Bible study, Pastor Kumuyi reacted to a sermon delivered by a younger preacher in the church who reportedly said, “there is no leadership without a successor.”

The holiness preacher described the remark as “too much,” stressing that leadership changes in the church are determined by divine timing.

“The brother who taught the other Tuesday kept saying there is no leadership without a successor. He said it twice. “

“I felt that was too much, and your father in the Lord is still here. If God wants to give a successor, He will do so in His own time,”
