The French D1 Arkema (women’s league) has crowned Chiamaka Nnadozie as its best goalkeeper.
Nnadozie is the first person from Africa—specifically, Nigeria—to get the honor.
Her reputation as one of the world’s top goalkeepers was solidified by the accomplishment.
The 23-year-old won the prize ahead of Christiane Endler of Olympic Lyon and Katarzyna Kiedrzynek of Paris SG.
Nnadozie is renowned for her remarkable penalty-saving abilities.
This season, she has saved the most penalties in Europe—seven.
Paris FC president, Pierre Ferracci said the goalie deserved to win the award.
“It’s very pleasing, because she deserves it and she achieved an exceptional Champions League and not only on penalties.
“She is adorable. It is deserved. We know that she will be courted this summer but we will try to keep her,” Ferracci said at the ceremony. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
