One Nigerian-born Naval officer, Kelechi Ndukwe, has been promoted from Commander to Navy Captain in the US Navy.
The news was shared in a post by the Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Friday, 30th of August, 2024.
The post reads:
“A hearty congratulations to Navy Captain Kelechi R Ndukwe who has been promoted to the rank of Navy Captain from Commander, in the US NAVY. He is the first Nigerian American to Command a US warship #ProudlyNigerian.”
A US Army Officer, Victor Agunbiade, also shared the news in a post via his X handle.
He wrote:
