The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has disclosed that the Contactless Passport Application System app is now available on Google Playstore as “NIS Mobile”.
The Service also announced that the worldwide usage of the system would commence from 1st of December 2024.
They have earlier announced that the phased contactless passport renewal system will start from Canada since November 1 and be extended to the United States of America since November 15.
The system which is designed to simplify and modernise the passport renewal process allows Nigerians to apply for passport renewals online reducing the need for in-person visit to NIS offices.
The availability of the Contactless Passport Application System app was announced in a terse statement on the NIS X handle on Sunday, 24th of November 2024.
The statement reads:
“The Contactless Passport Application System app is now available on Google Playstore as “NIS Mobile”.
“Please remember that the worldwide usage would commence from December 1st.
