‘Nigeria, a country that does not respect court orders is seeking to restore democracy in Niger’ – Lawyer chastise Tinubu govt

Iniebehe Effiong, a Nigerian Legal Practitioner has slammed the country’s plan to interfere in the democratic process of the Niger Republic.

President Bola Tinubu, Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, in a bid to resolve the ongoing political impasse in Niger Republic has dispatched a delegation led by former Nigerian Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (Rtd), to Niamey, freshreporters media reports.

It was gathered that the delegation includes the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, and the President of the ECOWAS Commission, H.E. Omar Alieu Touray,

Iniebehe who threw shade at the recent development stated, on his Facebook handle said,

“Nigeria, a country that does not respect court orders is seeking to restore “democracy” in Niger.

A country where a security agency will blatantly and publicly invade the court and disobey valid court orders is trying to lecture coup leaders in Niger.

Hypocrisy.

Jokers.” He said.

The delegation left for Niger on Thursday as the action aligns with the resolution made at the recent extraordinary summit of the ECOWAS held in Abuja last weekend.

In addition, President Tinubu has sent another delegation led by Ambassador Babagana Kingibe to hold talks with the leaders of Libya and Algeria concerning the crisis in Niger. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>
