The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Gombe, has commenced an on-the-spot assessment of fire and windstorm incidents that recently struck several communities in the Kaltungo/Shongom Federal Constituency of Gombe State.
Following an alert from the Honourable Member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, NEMA’s Gombe operations office swiftly deployed a response team to assess the extent of the damage caused by the disasters.
According to a statement on the agency’s X handle, the affected areas include Kaltungo West, Karen Gete, Millennium Quarters, Sabon Layi, Lapan, and Shongom, where the disaster caused significant damage to residential properties.
The statement reads:
“NEMA Assesses Fire and Windstorm Disasters in Kaltungo/Shongom Federal Constituency, Gombe State.
“The Gombe Operations Office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) received an alert from the Honourable Member representing Kaltungo/Shongom Federal Constituency regarding recent fire and windstorm disasters. In response, the agency promptly deployed a team to assess the affected areas.
