Men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested an Iran-bound woman identified as Ihensekhien Miracle Obehion at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Sunday, May 3.
Disguised in a hijab to evade security checks, Obehi was found with three wraps of cocaine in her private part, two parcels concealed in her handbag, and had swallowed 67 pellets of the drug, bringing the total weight to 2.523 kilograms.
She was, however, placed under observation until she excreted the swallowed pellets.
In a similar operation, NDLEA operatives at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, on May 9, arrested a 22-year-old British national, Campell Kaizra Kofi Johannes Slifer, arriving from Thailand through Doha on Qatar Airway flight.
Kofi was found with two suitcases containing 35 parcels of Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, weighing 37.6 kilograms, and had confessed to being convicted twice for drug trafficking in the UK, and was recruited in London to smuggle the drugs into Nigeria.
In Niger State, a fuel tanker and three vehicles were intercepted along the Suleja-Kaduna Road on Wednesday, May 7.
NDLEA officers recovered 3,047 kilograms of skunk concealed in 246 bags, while arresting four suspects identified as: Christopher Onyema (47), Benedict Etineruba Young (54), Chukwudi Ujue Jerry (30), and Mohammed Abdullahi Danasabe.
Apart from the fuel tanker, other vehicles recovered were: Honda Odyssey bus marked YAB 667 CZ; Gulf bus with registration number GWA 125 TQ and Honda Odyssey bus marked ABJ 230 CN.
Additionally, in the Oja Amukoko area of Ijora, Lagos, NDLEA operatives conducted a raid on Thursday, May 8, which led to the arrest of two individuals identified as, Eze Chekube Emmanuel and Ike Samuel Chinyerem.
During the operation, total of 109,914 pills of various substances were seized from them, including Tramadol, Swinol, and Nitrazepam.
Also on May 6, in Bauchi State, a Toyota Tundra truck with registration number RBC 111 DW, conveying 526 blocks of compressed skunk weighing a total of 505 kilograms, was intercepted along the Bauchi-Gombe road.
Operatives of the NDLEA however arrested two men identified as Isaac Onogure (37) and Ikechukwu Peter (44), as further investigations are on ongoing. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
