The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has captured a notorious drug kingpin, Lekan Jimoh, alias “Kanmo-Kanmo,” following a 12-year manhunt. Jimoh was arrested on January 16, 2026, in Owode, Ogun State, in an intelligence-driven operation.
The suspect had been wanted since June 15, 2014, for allegedly orchestrating an attack that killed three NDLEA officers, including Rabiu Usman Kazaure, during an attempted arrest at his hideout. In a 2023 raid at his Ado-Odo residence, operatives seized 1,922 kilograms of skunk but Jimoh escaped; the property was later forfeited to the government. During his recent arrest, an additional 69 kilograms of skunk were recovered from his hideout.
NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.), hailed the arrest as a “triumph of justice” and a stern warning to drug barons and fugitives that “you may run, but the long arm of the law will eventually find you.” He commended the tactical teams across multiple states for their persistence and success in the operation.
