Giant Telecommunications Company, MTN Nigeria, has shut down all its offices and service centres nationwide.
This followed the vandalisation of the company’s offices by aggrieved customers whose lines were disconnected in line with the government’s NIN-SIM linkage policy.
Large crowds of subscribers were reported to have gathered at the MTN’s offices across the country on Monday, expressing outrage and frustration over the sudden blockage of their phone numbers.
However, in a brief statement via their X handle on Tuesday, 30th of July, 2024, MTN wrote:
