“Move Isese festival To Somewhere else”, Kwara police urges worshippers

The Police in Kwara State have asked the followers of a traditional religion called Isese to consider moving their upcoming festival, which is planned for August 20, 2023, to a different part of the country. They’re saying that the security situation in Kwara State is not safe for the celebration.

The police spoke about this in a statement on Monday evening. They’ve talked with the religious group and suggested that they hold their festival in another state where the security is better.

The police are trying to keep everyone safe and prevent crime in Kwara State. They’re going to have a special operation where they will be checking people and vehicles 24 hours a day.

The police had a meeting with all the security agencies in the state to talk about the security situation. They’ve come up with new plans to keep crime under control in the state. One of their plans is called the “Harmony Security Week,” where they will be doing thorough checks, using cars and walking patrols around the clock.

The Police Commissioner of Kwara State, CP. Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, wants people to know about this special security operation. He asks people not to worry if they see police officers during this time. He wants everyone to cooperate and allow searches of their bodies and vehicles if they’re asked.

The police have trained the officers who will be doing these checks, and they’ve been told to treat people respectfully while carrying out their duties.
