MMM Ponzi Scheme Returns As MMMKrypto, Cautions Users About Uncertainties

Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox (MMM) is a popular ponzi scheme that swept across Africa, with branches promising a monthly 30% return on investment in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, and several East African countries, and is about to revive as MMMKrypto.

The information seen on a flyer revealed that MMMKrypto held a recent event in Durban, South Africa, in 2023-12-2.

MMM Krypto advertises itself on its website as a “global mutual Aid fund, financial social network, or World People’s Bank,” but it is aimed at an international audience.

MMM Krypto claims to be a voluntary informal association made up of millions of people around the world who have declared a “war against banks and the Fed to combat financial slavery,” but on its website “there are no guarantees or promises.” It is neither explicit nor implicit. There is no investment or business. Participants help each other and send money directly to each other without intermediaries.”

The Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) revealed in 2017 that an estimated 300 million Nigerians lost 180 billion N to MMM.

In 2018, MMM announced that it would close after the death of its founder Sergei Mavrodi.

While labeling the platform as a scam, a Johannesburg-based X user, @Rayzofficial1 mentioned losing R20000 in 2016.

“MMM is back ???????? Don’t even think of trying it oooo”, an X user @OtunbaIcon001 warned.

Furthermore, a South African @Bonisile_RMS decried saying “The difficulty with warning your aunts and uncles about MMM and other pyramid schemes is that they will just do it behind your back.
