Banex Plaza, a retail center in Abuja’s Wuse 2 area, has been closed by Nigerian Army officers in response to attacks on several troops over the weekend.
This was confirmed by Mr. Somto, a dealer at the neighboring Emab Plaza.
Indeed, Banex is secured. However, it has no effect on us. “There are some Army men here,” he remarked.
The situation was corroborated by another store owner, an Apple Products retailer, who talked with our correspondent under the condition of anonymity. He said that traders and the Army are still in communication.
āNo, we are not open. You know because of the issue that happened, the Army has locked down the place. At each gate of Banex now, there is a Hilux vehicle, Army Hilux. They wonāt even let you cross the place.
