The Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), Major General A.B. Abubakar, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Military High Command’s commitment to the welfare of its troops stationed in the North-East.
During a strategic supervisory visit to Sector 2 covering Damaturu and Geidam, the commander engaged directly with frontline soldiers to assess their living conditions, feeding arrangements, morale, and operational needs. His message was clear: the military leadership prioritizes the well-being of its personnel as a core pillar of operational success.
General Abubakar used the opportunity to commission several newly constructed and renovated facilities, including a vehicle repair bay and a Level II Field Hospital in Damaturu.
These infrastructure upgrades, he noted, are part of ongoing efforts to improve logistics and medical support to enhance combat efficiency and soldier safety.
He also visited troops in Babbangida, Kanama, Kukurta, and other forward operating bases, where he inspected equipment and reassured the troops of continued support from the Army Headquarters.
The commander emphasized that gallant officers and soldiers would be recognized and rewarded for their exceptional service, as directed by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olatubosun Oluyede.
He also cautioned personnel to use official channels to voice grievances and comply strictly with the Armed Forces’ social media policy. Troops were commended for their discipline and charged to sustain pressure on insurgents until total peace is restored in the region.
