BREAKING: Meta’s Threads Introduces Web Version as battle with Twitter tightens

Threads, Meta’s contender aiming to challenge Twitter’s dominance among celebrities, businesses, and governments, has introduced a web version to reinvigorate its somewhat lackluster debut.

The addition of a web interface to Threads is strategically important in appealing to professionals and media personalities who are highly engaged on social media, often using computers during work hours.

Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram who also oversees Threads, announced the launch of “Threads.net” on Thursday, inviting feedback from users. This move marks a departure from Threads’ previous availability only as a mobile app on iPhones and Android devices.

Metrics from Similarweb, a company that tracks user engagement, indicated a drop in daily active users on the Android version of Threads from its peak of 49.3 million to 10.3 million.

During the week of Threads’ launch, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, acknowledged that the app would need time to stabilize before focusing on community growth.

It’s important to note that Threads is currently not accessible in Europe due to concerns about adhering to the European Union’s data privacy regulations…[CONTINUE READING HERE]>>
