Man Arrested For Allegedly K!lling Lover’s Husband In Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has detained Ishaya Markus, 35, on suspicion of fatally stabbing a man.

Ishaku has acknowledged that he had an adulterous affair with the deceased’s wife.

On Friday morning, information was gathered that the occurrence took place in a village in Fufore LGA on the 3rd of this month.

The deceased, Franchise Albert, and his 20-year-old wife, Libiyatu, reportedly had an affair with the suspect in 2022, which led to family problems, according to sources.

It was said that despite Albert’s warnings, the suspect and his wife chose to carry on with their romance.

“My husband had warned us when he got wind of what we were doing,” Libiyatu confessed to the cops.

“He and I fought over the issue, as a result of which I left for my parents’ house.

“Ishaya followed and took me into the bush and had an affair with me after the warning. He slept with me five times.”

She said that once she and her husband worked things out, he requested her to go back to their marital residence, but Ishaya Markus pursued her.

She said that “Ishaya came to take me out again, but didn’t meet me at home” on the day her husband passed away.

Speaking with the police as well, Ishaya acknowledged murdering Franchise in a fight after having an affair with his late wife.

He said, “On that fateful day, I went to the community where the deceased and his wife live. I went there to take her out again, but I did not meet her.

“While I was returning home, I met with the deceased and he asked me whether I went to see his wife again. Fight ensued in the course of the argument. He pulled out his knife and I pulled out my own and we engaged in a bloody fight.

“He cut me in my hand and by the neck. I stabbed him in his stomach two times and by the neck, leading to his death.”

The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, has ordered a thorough investigation to ensure that the suspect was properly prosecuted, according to SP Suleiman Ngurore, the spokesman for the Adamawa State Police Command. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
