The junta leader in Mali has said they are still examining Air France’s request to resume flights to the country.
In a statement earlier this week, Air France announced the resumption of flights to Mali again from Friday onwards, saying it had reached a deal with the transitional authorities, BBC reports on Thursday, October 12.
The initial announcement was subsequently contradicted by Mali’s transport ministry, which clarified that it was still evaluating Air France’s request to resume flights into the country. The suspension remains in effect temporarily. The ministry also accused the airline of suspending flights unilaterally without prior notification to the authorities and customers.
