Local Chief And Sons Arrested For Brutal Murder In Yobe Village

In a shocking incident that has rocked Dako Kangarwa village in Yunusari Local Government Area of Yobe State, the Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a local chief and his two sons in connection with the murder of one Goni Waje.

The spokesperson for the Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, released a statement in Damaturu providing details of the gruesome crime.

According to the statement, the suspects identified as Jalomi, Ciroma, and Bulama allegedly took the life of Goni Waje on June 7.

The motive behind the murder was reportedly an accusation made by the trio, claiming that Waje had an affair with Bulama’s wife, who is also the mother of Jalomi and Ciroma.

Eyewitnesses described a horrific scene, where Waje was brutally attacked with a cutlass and subsequently burned to death by Alhaji Jalomi and Ciroma. The incident reportedly originated from a fight in which Waje used a knife to injure Bulama, the father of the suspects.

Following the incident, the three suspects voluntarily turned themselves in at the Yunusari Divisional Police Station. Bulama, while seeking treatment for his injuries, decided to involve the police in the investigation. As a result, Waje, who was initially seen as the accused, was arrested at the Yunusari Police Division.

DSP Dungus Abdulkarim stated that the three suspects have been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. Meanwhile, the remains of Goni Waje have been deposited at the Specialists Hospital in Damaturu.
