- The President Election Tribunal has adjourned the pre-hearing of the Labour Party’s petition against President-elect Bola Tinubu and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) till May 17, 2023.
- Lawyers representing both parties returned to the tribunal to prepare for the hearing, with the LP’s lead counsel requesting an adjournment to allow for all non-contentious processes to be filed.
- The petition filed by the Action Alliance (AA) and Allied Peoples Party (APP) against Tinubu and INEC has been withdrawn.
The Presidential Election Tribunal began pre-hearing sessions for petitions filed against the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.
The petitions were filed by political parties and politicians. The suit filed by the Action Alliance (AA) and Allied Peoples Party (APP) against the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been withdrawn.
Meanwhile, the hearing of the Labour Party’s petition against Tinubu and INEC was adjourned until May 17, 2023.
The LP’s lead counsel requested an adjournment to allow for the filing of non-contentious processes.
