The Lagos State Police Command has indicated it may invite Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, for questioning over unspecified allegations circulating on social media.
Police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi confirmed the Commissioner of Police directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct a preliminary fact-finding exercise due to mounting public pressure from various claims.
Adebisi clarified that this move is not specifically linked to recent sex scandal allegations made by an actress, noting that no formal complaint or petition has been submitted by any alleged victim. She stated the SCID will assess the basis of the multiple claims and invite the cleric to respond.
“The idea is to invite him and ask him to respond to what we have heard. If there are witnesses who can actually confirm these claims, they will also be invited,” the police spokesperson explained.
