The Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources has began the removal of shanties and illegal business activities under the Ijora bridge on Monday, 27th of May, 2024.
Tokunbo Wahab, who’s the ministry commissioner, revealed this in a post made available on their X handle today..
He wrote,
“Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources #LasgMOE commence removal of shanties and illegal business activities under the Ijora bridge.”
Reports from source on Saturday noted that Wahab disclosed that a 23-hour notice was served to illegal occupants squatting under the bridge to vacate the premises.
Recall that the state government had earlier in February destroyed and cleared illegal shanties occupied by squatters under the Ijora bridge after a five-day quit notice.
