Lagos Govt clears Lakowe Lakes road of illegal traders

Men of the Ministry of the Environment and Water resources, in a joint operation with the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), and Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps have commenced removal of illegal street traders and the demolition of illegal shanties along Lakowe Lakes road on Ajah – Epe expressway.

This was disclosed by the Managing Director of LAWMA, Muyiwa Gbadegesin, on Wednesday, 17th of July, 2024.

The post reads:

“Today, Wednesday 17th July, 2024, a combined #ZeroTolerance Task Force made up of Ministry of the Environment and Water resources (MEC team) together with #Lawma_gov, Monitoring and Compliance Team as well as #LAGESCOfficial team embarked on the removal of illegal street traders and the demolition of illegal shanties along the Lakowe Lakes road along Ajah – Epe expressway.

“These people have illegally occupied public spaces and continuously make a mess of the expressway by dumping refuse from their trading activities and even openly defecating along the road. This is unacceptable in OUR LAGOS and we will not allow it.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
