Lagos Gov’t arrests man for dûmping refuse in Oshodi canal, vows prosecution

The Lagos State Government has arrested a 43-year-old man, Paul Agwu, for illegally dumping refuse directly into the Oshodi canal on Monday morning.

The State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who disclosed this in a statement via his X handle, said Agwu was caught red-handed by enforcement officers and will face immediate prosecution.

The statement reads,

“43-year-old Paul Agwu was caught red-handed dumping refuse directly into the Oshodi canal this morning.

“Dumping waste in canals is a recipe for flooded homes. We will never tolerate this reckless endangerment of communities.
