Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a new, purpose-built headquarters of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) in Alausa, Ikeja.
The ultra-modern facility, a complete donation from renowned philanthropist and businessman Sir Kensington Adebutu, founder of Premier Lotto Limited, marks a significant achievement in public-private partnerships aimed at bolstering security in Nigeria’s commercial hub. The building is scheduled for completion by October 2026.
A Model of Public-Private Collaboration
At the ceremony, Governor Sanwo-Olu lauded Adebutu’s philanthropy as a powerful example of how government and private citizens can collaborate to enhance peace and safety. “This project underscores the impact of public-private partnerships in advancing economic growth and security governance,” the governor stated. He explained the new headquarters will provide a permanent base for the LSSTF and improve coordination among the state’s various security agencies.
Reaffirming Security as a Top Priority
Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed that security is the top priority of his administration and promised residents continued vigilance, supported by patriots like Adebutu. The donation fulfills a pledge Adebutu made during the 19th Annual Town Hall Meeting on Security in early December, where he committed to constructing the headquarters within 12 months.
Concluding his remarks, the governor urged security chiefs and LSSTF board members to sustain their efforts, declaring, “With support from fathers like Adebutu, we will not drop the ball on our primary responsibility of keeping Lagos safe.”
