Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State governor, has today Tuesday inaugurated a new leadership fellowship named after a former governor of the state, Lateef Jakande in Lagos state.
The Lagos Governor, Sanwo-Olu, who took to his twitter handle shared some photos from the inauguration of the first class of the Lateef Jakande Leadership and Fellowship Academy.
He said, “When our administration thought about setting up the Academy, we said to ourselves that we didn’t want to name another street or estate after the late Jakande, because his name has had a lot of that. We thought about establishing an institution that will sustain and project the values for which he was known.”
Mr Sanwo-Olu revealed that from thousands of applications, 36 persons have been selected to be part of the inaugural class of the fellowship.
Also, the government of Kaduna State, has a similar programme for young Nigerians in the state on leadership called the Kashim Ibrahim Fellowship.
