Lagos Deputy Governor’s Office Budgets N4.2 Billion for Furniture and Microphones

A review of Lagos State’s approved 2026 budget reveals that the Office of the Deputy Governor has allocated N4.2 billion for the purchase of office furniture and 30 microphones.

According to the budget breakdown, the funds will cover the procurement of 10 executive tables and chairs, 40 visitor chairs, and 120 officers’ tables and chairs for the Deputy Governor’s Office, including newly deployed principal staff. The allocation also includes 30 microphones for the delegates’ conference room.

Between January and September 2025, N97.5 million had already been spent on similar items. However, an additional N4.247 billion has now been proposed for the 2026 fiscal year.

The budget also shows N35.4 billion allocated for the construction of permanent legislative quarters for members, covering architectural designs, structural engineering, soil testing, pile works, and consultancy services.

Another N20 billion is set aside for fencing, drainage works, gutter covering with slabs, landscaping, and beautification of the Assembly complex and legislative quarters.

In contrast, only N16 billion is allocated for “MDA executed community-based Capital Infrastructural Intervention” projects.
