Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and former Governor Senator Rochas Okorocha were observed visiting the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday evening. They were accompanied by the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje.
The group, along with Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, left the Villa shortly after their arrival. President Bola Tinubu had reportedly already left his office at that time.
While the purpose of their visit has not been officially disclosed, it could be connected to past tensions between Uzodinma and Okorocha, who served as Imo Governor from 2011 to 2019.
A source from the presidency, speaking with Vanguard, mentioned that the APC Party Chairman, Alhaji Ganduje, might have brought Uzodinma, who chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, along with his estranged colleague Okorocha and Governor Sanwo-Olu to the President’s residence.
Recently, a committee formed by the Imo State Government accused Okorocha and his associates of misusing public property. This development comes after Okorocha was implicated by the committee for appropriating land belonging to Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri.
In a report submitted to Governor Hope Uzodinma and signed by the committee’s chairman, Prof Vitalis Orikeze Ajumbe, and secretary, B F Anyanwu, it was recommended that the land at Shell Camp be reclaimed from Okorocha and his associates within six months and returned to the institution…[CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>
