Popular singer Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, was detained by the Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday for failing to settle a debt he accrued when he bought a G-Wagon from an auto dealer.
It was learned that Portable only paid N13 million of the N27 million cost of the car while buying it, refusing to pay the remaining N14 million.
It was discovered that he frequently said that the car was defective whenever the car dealer called to ask him to settle the outstanding amount.
It learned that the auto dealer reported the issue to the police and that Portable was arrested by officers assigned to the case after futile attempts to persuade Portable to pay the remaining amount were unsuccessful.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the state police, verified that Portable had been taken into custody when he was contacted. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
