JUST IN: Bandits Attack Sokoto State, Kidnap Several Tsangaya Students

Several Tsangaya students were kidnapped when bandits invaded Gidan Bakuso in Sokoto State’s Gada local government area on Saturday morning.

At approximately 1.00 am, the bandits attacked and kidnapped a minimum of 15 students, according to reports.

Liman Abubakar, the school’s proprietor reported that in addition to abducting a woman, the bandits who attacked the town also shot one individual.

He stated that there could have been additional students taken captive in the assault, with 15 pupils presently unaccounted for; however, “we are currently tallying.”

Abubakar reported that at approximately 1 am, the bandits raided the town and lethally shot an individual while kidnapping a female.

While departing the town, our students were spotted by them hurrying towards their accommodations and subsequently taken captive.

“As quoted by Daily Trust, he stated that 15 individuals have been identified as missing thus far and the search is still ongoing for additional people.”

Kabiru Dauda, the representative of Gada-East Constituency at the State House of Assembly, confirmed that he received a call around 2am notifying him that bandits had invaded the village. This corroborated reports confirming a recent attack on the area by these criminals.

He stated that he had contacted the local government authorities and security agencies, expressing confidence in their actions towards resolving it.

According to additional reports relating to the assault, marauders also raided Turba village in Isa Local Government Area of the region and murdered three individuals, one of whom was the local chief.

Habibu Modachi, the representative of Isa Constituency, confirmed the incident and suspected that it was a retaliation following a recent security operation on bandits’ hideouts.

ASP Ahmad Rufa’i, spokesperson for the Sokoto State Police Command, stated that he had no knowledge of this situation.
