The Jigawa State and Local Government Contributory Pension Board has doled out over ₦1.5 billion to 569 retirees, covering retirement benefits, death benefits, and pension balances.

Speaking during the event in Dutse, the State Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, highlighted the efficiency of the state’s pension system, describing it as one of the best in the country.

He revealed that more than 20 states have visited Jigawa to understudy its contributory pension structure.

Dagaceri commended Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi for his continuous support and investment in the pension scheme, which he said has significantly improved since the governor assumed office.

He emphasized that the state government’s efforts are positively impacting not just the retirees but also the broader civil service, encouraging both active and retired workers to continue praying for the administration’s success.

Dr. Binyaminu Shitu Aminu, the Executive Secretary of the Pension Board, disclosed that ₦875.6 million will go to retirees from state service, ₦355 million to local government retirees, and ₦274.8 million to beneficiaries from Local Education Authorities (LEAs).

He assured that the Board remains committed to timely payment of entitlements, including prompt monthly pensions. He reaffirmed the state’s dedication to securing the future of its workforce beyond active service.
