The National Youth Service Corps revealed it has resumed orientation camp in Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno state after 13 years the exercise was suspended in 2011 due to Boko Haram insurgency.
The Batch ‘B’ Stream 2 corps members comprising of 629 males and 496 females on Tuesday were sworn in at an Arabic Teacher’s College used temporarily as an orientation camp in the state capital.
The military disclosed this on Wednesday in a post shared on the agency’s X app (formerly Twitter) handle.
Captioning the photos, the agency wrote,
“The NYSC Orientation Camp has reopened in Maiduguri, Borno state on Tuesday 22 August 2023 after 13 years it was suspended due to the insurgency.
“The resumption of camp orientation activity signifies that peace has returned to the state as gallant troops of OPERATION HADIN KAI (OPHK) have continued to record successes in the ongoing Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorism operations in the Northeastern states of Nigeria.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
