As preparations intensify for the Anambra State Governorship election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has held an Electoral Risk Management Sensitisation workshop in Awka, the capital city of Anambra state.
The workshop focused on critical security issues that could affect the election scheduled for 8th November 2025.
According to a post on INEC’s X handle, participants were taken through presentations on Electoral Risk Management tools, identification of risk factors, indicators and levels, as well as a map on harmonised risk factors.
National Commissioner, Rhoda Gumus, commended the security agencies for maintaining a secure environment during recent bye-elections in the state, while urging continued collaboration with the Commission for a peaceful election.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Anambra State, Queen Elizabeth Agu, also expressed gratitude to members of the Inter-Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) for their cooperation.
She emphasised that participants should treat the workshop deliberations with the seriousness they deserve.
