Governor Alex Otti has disclosed that Okezie Ikpeazu, his predecessor, paid billions of dollars for projects that never happened in the Abia State.
Speaking to Abia Indigenes at a US event intended to promote investment in the Southeast state, Otti said that he had engaged one of the world’s leading accounting companies to conduct a forensic audit.
One of the purportedly funded projects by Ikpeazu is an airport that never was. Otti went on to say that the billions spent on the nonexistent airport were utilized to pay off wage and pension arrears that accumulated over a ten-year period. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
