“If She Pays me ₦1M Naira I will grant Her Divorce” – Man tells Court

A trader, Nasiru Yunusa, informed a high Area Court in Kubwa, FCT, that he would only let his wife go if she paid him N1 million.

Freshreporters News learned that Yunusa and Hamisu tied the knot according to Islamic customs in 2021 and have a one-year-old daughter.

Earlier, Hamisu went to court to end her marriage with Yunusa, claiming he “lack of care and respect”.

She said Yunusa removed her things out of their house and sent them to her father’s house on April 19, 2022.

Yunusa, however, said he wanted Hamisu to come back home, but would only grant her freedom(divorce) if she paid him back.

“I’ve spent money on a lawyer for the ongoing case and everything I’ve spent on her is N1 million, which I can prove,” he said.

In response, the woman who filed the case said she doesn’t love Yunusa and can’t live with him anymore.

“It’s not true that he spent N1 million on me because I’ve been with my parents for the past two and a half years after he dumped my stuff at their doorstep.”

“I had our daughter through a C-section at Kubwa General Hospital and he didn’t pay a penny for the bill.”

“I’m only willing to give him back the money he gave me for the wedding, N50,000,” she said.

The Judge, Mohammed Wakili, put off the case until Jan 8 for further hearings…[CONTINUE READING HERE]>>
