Ibori, Makinde, And Wike Meet With Tinubu Behind Closed Doors

Former governors of Rivers State Nyesom Wike, Delta State James Ibori, and Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde are currently meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The former governors Wike, Ibori and governor Makinde arrived at the State House at around 4:20.

While Wike recently left office after eight years in Rivers state governor, Ibori and President Tinubu both served as governors from 1999 to 2007.

Wike and Makinde are members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and belong to the group of governors, the G-5, that worked against their party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the February 25 elections.

Ibori is rumored to have worked for the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the most recent general elections because his PDP candidate for governor lost to Ifeanyi Okowa’s candidacy.

Having lost control of the PDP in Delta State, there has been unsubstantiated talk that Ibori could shortly defect to the APC.

On his own, Wike is engaged in a constant conflict with the PDP’s top brass.
