President-elect Bola Tinubu Pledges Commitment to Nigerians Ahead of Inauguration

President-elect Bola Tinubu has made a fresh promise to the Nigerian people as he prepares for his inauguration on May 29. Speaking at the presidential inauguration banquet/gala night at the State House Conference Center in Abuja on Sunday, Tinubu assured the nation that he would not offer any excuses but would instead live up to the expectations of the people and confront challenges head-on.

In his address, Tinubu declared, “No excuses. I will live up to all expectations.”

He emphasized that he willingly pursued the position and therefore does not seek pity. Rather, he expressed his commitment to fulfilling the responsibilities of the presidency and addressing the diverse challenges that his administration may encounter.

Acknowledging the lessons Nigeria’s democracy has taught Africa and the world, Tinubu commended the country for its resilience, determination, courage, and unity amidst diversity.

He humorously noted that despite his predecessor heading to Daura, he assured him that he would still be able to find him when in need of assistance, emphasizing the interconnectedness of leadership and the continuity of support.

Earlier during the event, the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, accompanied by Tinubu, the incoming First Lady Remi Tinubu, Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima, and his wife, unveiled a book titled “Renewed Hope, Greater Together.”
