“I Was Given N50k As Reward” – Says Mechanic Who Refunded N10.8m Mistakenly Sent To His Account (Video)

An identified contractor, known as Itoba, who praised his mechanic Timothy, for returning N10.8m that was mistakenly paid into his account reportedly gave N50,000 sum of money as reward.

Itoba in a viral video he shared on social media made this known today, Monday. While hailing his mechanic, the self-acclaimed contractor uses the opportunity to introduce his mechanic to the world for the kindly gesture, FreshReporters reports.

He noted that the money was mistakenly paid to him 4pm on Sunday which he intended to use for contract.

In the video, he said, “My name is Mr Itoba, and I’m a contractor. I’m using this opportunity to introduce Mr Timothy to everyone. Yesterday around 4pm, I mistakenly transferred N10.8m to his account intended for my manager on my project, and he came on his own to return the money.

“As desperate as the condition is, there are still very good people and that is why I’m making this public announcement that anyone who needs his service should contact him because he’s a good and honest man.”

Checks today, Wednesday revealed one of his (mechanic) customers, identified as Chinonso Ndukwe, via Facebook handle learnt the contractor in the viral video gift him (Timothy) N50,000 out of his kindly gesture for appreciation for refunding N10.8M mistakenly sent to his account.

Sharing a photo he took with Timothy, Chinonso said “”Before going on TV i went to my mechanic to ask him about what I saw all over the Internet yesterday. He has been serving me very well. So when I read that he returned 10.8 million to one of his customers i was impressed.”

He furthered that, “Today when I saw him he was quite ill . He said he is having headache. The man that he returned his money gave him N50,000.00. People can be really unimaginable. Behold!”

The contractor in the viral had alleged that the money was actually meant for a contract to be executed.
