Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia North) said holding public office has cost him more than it has benefited him.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, on Monday, 2nd of June 2025, Kalu revealed that he used personal resources to run the State as Governor from 1999-2007 and continues to fund his legislative duties.
He emphasised that instead of gaining from public office, his personal sacrifices have taken a toll on his finances and business interests.
Kalu said:
“I spent my own money being governor, like I am spending my money today being a Senator. I used to finance the state, that is the truth.
“I never benefited from anything being governor, rather, I lost a lot of money. The Federal Government took a lot of my businesses. So, politics has been very dangerous to me.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
