Former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has said he did not pledge to resolve all of the state’s challenges during his time in office.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Ikpeazu, who served as governor from 2015 to 2023, said his administration was guided by a modest and practical manifesto.
He said:
“I don’t regret anything because I was very humble and modest in my manifesto and in my social contract with the people of Abia.
“I never promised that I would be able to do everything. The summary of my promise was that I was going to move Abia where it was at that time to a better place.
“One of them is life expectancy — it was better in that time. Poverty index — it was better in my time.
“I built two industries. I created employment for over 5,000 people,” he said.
“I built over 220 roads. I built 650 classroom blocks. I offered over 50 overseas scholarships to Abia youths. I trained 30 shoemakers in China. I can go on and on.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
