Afrobeats singer Adedamola Adefolahan, aka Fireboy DML has recounted his childhood experiences, highlighting the responsibilities that came with being a firstborn.
In an interview on the 90s Baby show, Fireboy shared how he had to attend public school so his siblings could attend private schools.
According to him, this act intilled in him the strong sense of responsibility which he believes comes with the position of being the first child.
Fireboy DML said:
“There was a time I had to go to public school so my siblings could go to private school. I heard the word “you have to be responsible “ for years. I think it comes naturally as a first born. “
“You’re responsible for your siblings and upholding the family name. I didn’t become a ‘man’ until I left home and went to university. “
