Abeokuta Radio Presenter Empowers Twins, Beggar, and Masa Seller
Kolawole Adejojo, popularly known as Kasnaty, a well-known radio presenter based in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has made a significant impact by providing empowerment to various individuals, including about 100 sets of twins, a 50-year-old beggar named Akeem Idowu, and a ‘masa’ seller named Mrs. Joel Taibat.
This empowering initiative took place during the inaugural edition of an annual event celebrating twins at a location known as ‘Agboole Agbe’beji-gun-ori-esin’ in Abeokuta.
‘Agboole Agbe’beji-gun-ori-esin,’ a compound renowned for witnessing a high number of twin births, became the focal point for this event.
Kasnaty, through his radio program “Street Voices with Kasnaty,” was inspired by the unique name of the compound and decided to establish an annual event dedicated to celebrating twins.
As part of the celebration, Kasnaty introduced a beautifully adorned horse and placed a set of twins on it, symbolically representing the name ‘Agbe’beji-gun-ori-esin.’
Through his program, Kasnaty had previously garnered support for vulnerable members of the community, including the elderly and small-scale traders.
Aside from assisting 100 sets of twins, Adejojo also facilitated financial support of over N700,000 for Idowu, a beggar who has since transitioned to becoming a foodstuff seller following the intervention.
Speaking about the event, Kasnaty shared, “Around 100 twins are beneficiaries of today’s program. When I conceived the idea for this event and learned about the compound’s name, I felt that we should create a unique experience. We brought a horse and placed a set of twins on it.”
He further explained, “This program encompasses empowerment, education, mindset change, and entertainment. We provided them with financial support. Additionally, the ‘masa’ seller, whose goods may not have been worth more than N20,000, received money and an additional N70,000. The man who used to beg has now received around N800,000 in just a week. This has liberated him from begging and given him the opportunity to start his own business.”
Expressing his gratitude, Idowu joyfully stated, “God has rescued me from the life of begging. He has removed the cloak of begging from me and cast it into the river. Begging is now a thing of the past. I pray that our helper will never beg for survival, and no one will ever have to beg for food.”
Through this initiative, Kasnaty’s efforts have made a positive impact on the lives of these individuals, providing them with newfound opportunities and hope for a brighter future…[CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>
