Houston Rapper Big Pokey Dies at 45 After Collapsing On Stage (Video)

The music community is in mourning as news broke of the sudden and untimely death of Houston rapper Milton Powell, famously known as Big Pokey.

The 47-year-old artist, who had been a prominent figure in the Houston rap scene for decades, passed away over the weekend following a terrifying fall during a live performance.

The incident occurred at a bar in Beaumont, Texas, where Big Pokey was performing late Saturday night. Disturbing video footage captured the moment when the rapper, standing on what appeared to be a two-story stage, unexpectedly lost his balance and fell backward, unconscious. The crowd initially reacted with laughter, unaware of the severity of the situation. However, the mood quickly turned to panic as it became evident that Big Pokey was unresponsive.

Eyewitnesses reported that a woman claiming to be a nurse rushed to the rapper’s aid, attempting to administer medical assistance. Concerned onlookers joined in, frantically trying to revive him, but their efforts proved futile. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived at the scene shortly after midnight and promptly transported Big Pokey to a nearby hospital.
