The hometown of former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, is filled with mourning and reverence as the burial rites for the late leader commence today, July 15, 2025.
Security has been beefed up at Buhari’s Daura residence, where groups of women have converged to offer heartfelt prayers ahead of the arrival of his body.
Garba Shehu, spokesperson for the late former President, confirmed that Buhari will be buried in his Daura residence.
The graveyard is currently being dug at the residence, and the body is expected to arrive after a 7-hour journey from London, where Buhari passed away on Sunday.
