One of the nurses in Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Zamfara State, Asma’u Lawali Bungudu, had been confirmed dead after slumping while discharging her duty in the hospital.
According to report gathered the said nurse was hale and hearty when she arrived at the hospital for work early on Wednesday but was confirmed dead a few hours after she resumed her daily duty.
Auwal Usman, the hospital spokesperson, confirmed the incident, pointing out that Asma’u was at her duty post tag fateful day and had checked the blood pressure of about 30 patients before she went to the doctor to lodge complained about a cardiac issue.
Speaking further on the tragic loss, the hospital spokesperson revealed that after her complaint, she immediately slumped, and doctors rushed to save her.
“The medical doctors tried all they could to save her life but they couldn’t as she died instantly,” he added.
According to Usman, the management team of the hospital led by the Medical Director, Dr Usman Muhammad Shanawa, has handed over the remains to the relatives of the deceased.
When contacted, one of the family member of the late nurse confirmed to the newsmen that the deceased, Asmau left home hale and hearty on Wednesday morning and went to the hospital which is her place of work as a nurse without any health complaints.
“She was buried today by 5 pm at Malan Abdurrahaman House, Magama Area, Bungudu according to Islamic injunction,” the relative added.
