Gunmen K!ll One, Kidnap Village Head’s Wife, Son In Bauchi

In a tragic incident on Monday, gunmen launched a deadly invasion on Magamin Kano Village in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, resulting in the death of one person and leaving another injured.

The assailants also targeted the residence of the Village Head, Alh. Bashir Abubakar, abducting his wife and son and taking them to an undisclosed location.

According to a reliable source, the attackers specifically aimed to harm the traditional ruler, but he managed to escape their clutches. Unfortunately, his wife and son were not as fortunate and fell victim to the gunmen’s abduction.

Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen, who numbered many, carried out their operation for an extended period before retreating through the Ningi forest route. Their swift escape hampered efforts to apprehend them.

As of now, the Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, a Superintendent of Police, could not be reached for official confirmation regarding the incident.

This incident follows a recent spate of attacks in the region. Gunmen had previously invaded Kafin Lemo, where they looted shops and houses, making off with valuable items worth millions of Naira. During that raid, one person was shot in the leg.
