Grandma, Terry Janway K!lled Her Husband, Jack Janway And Their Grandson Before Shooting Herself

A devastating incident unfolded in Muskogee on Monday night as local authorities responded to a shooting that resulted in the deaths of two adults and an 11-year-old boy.

The Muskogee police suspect the incident to be a murder-suicide, with Terry Janway allegedly responsible for fatally shooting her husband, Jack Janway, and their young grandson, Dalton Janway. The Janways are connected to NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson, as Chandra Janway, the daughter of Terry and Jack, is married to the renowned racer.

The Muskogee Police Department received a distress call at approximately 9 p.m. from Terry Janway, reporting a disturbance involving an individual armed with a gun. Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers discovered an individual lying in the hallway near the front door. As they approached the residence, gunshots rang out from inside, prompting them to swiftly extract the person in the hallway to safety.

Law enforcement officers, joined by additional reinforcements, made repeated announcements urging any occupants within the house to exit. Once sufficient personnel were present, a thorough search of the premises was conducted, revealing the lifeless bodies of two more individuals.

Authorities are currently treating the incident as a murder-suicide and have stated that they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community. The investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic events that unfolded within the Janway household.

Expressing his deep sorrow, Muskogee Mayor Marlon Coleman, who had personal connections to the Janway family, lamented the shocking nature of the incident. Dr. Jack Janway, a respected chiropractor in the community, had been providing care to Mayor Coleman, establishing a longstanding relationship. The mayor, deeply affected by the loss, emphasized the importance of open communication and mental well-being, urging community members to support one another during trying times.

The tragedy further compounds the grief that the Janway family has endured, as their son, Jordan Janway, lost his life in a skydiving accident in 2014. Dalton Janway, the grandson who tragically lost his life in this incident, was listed as one of Jordan’s nephews in his obituary. The obituary also mentions Lynn as Jordan’s mother, referring to Terry Janway, who legally bears the name Terry Lynn Janway.
