The Lagos state Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has condoled with families of those affected by the accident which occurred due to the brake failure of a truck in the Ayetoro Market area.
The truck, which was descending from Ita-Opo, was said to have lost its brakes, colliding with a commercial tricycle and a parked Toyota Camry before ultimately crashing into the Aiyetoro market, resulting to at least three fatalities.
In response to the tragic event, the Governor on Tuesday, 12th of November shared a condolence statement via his X page .
The statement reads:
“I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences in light of the tragic traffic accident that occurred in the Aiyetoro area of Epe, Lagos State, yesterday, Monday, November 11, 2024.
“Reports indicate that a cement truck suffered brake failure, resulting in the unfortunate loss of lives and injuries sustained.
“With deep sorrow, I extend my sympathies to the families of those affected. I also pray for the departed souls and for the speedy recovery of those injured.
“May the families find solace in the love and support surrounding them, and may the cherished memories of their loved ones bring them some comfort as they navigate their grief.
