Governor Fubara: “I Choose to Be Weak for Peace,” Dedicates Award to Wike

Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, has sparked mixed reactions following remarks made at the New Telegraph Awards/Dinner Night, where he explained his governing approach and dedicated his honour to Minister Nyesom Wike.

Speaking at the event, Fubara said, “I choose to be weak because I want peace in my state, weak because I need to survive and to protect the things that are not only dear to me but to the nation.”

He clarified that his seemingly conciliatory posture is intentional, aimed at ensuring stability and safeguarding the broader interests of the people.

The governor also used the platform to dedicate his award to the FCT Minister, whom he referred to as his mentor. “I want to also dedicate this award to my Oga, the FCT Minister, who discovered me,” Fubara stated.
