She also expressed support for the decisions made by the Commander in Chief to build a more respected Nigeria in the long run.
In addition, she called on Nigerians to be more accountable as a people in managing resources.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu shared this advice during a meeting with the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, at her office in the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday.
The First Lady acknowledged the efforts of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) in various areas such as agriculture, empowerment, education, health, and social welfare. These efforts are meant to complement the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The President has made the right decisions. These decisions will help us build a Nigeria that is more respected. We should be more accountable as a people as regards our resources,” said Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
She emphasized the need to inspire the youth to prioritize the nation. “We must inspire them to think about Nigeria as a whole before their own states.”
To achieve this, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) has organized the #ONE NIGERIA/Unity Fabric project. Youth between the ages of 15 and 25 will design a fabric depicting Nigeria, rather than just their own state or tribe. There is a substantial prize money for the winner.
Regarding the issue of internally displaced persons (IDPs), Senator Oluremi Tinubu announced that the RHI has initiated a monthly Food Outreach Program for IDPs and persons with disabilities.
“I am not being deterred. I will continue to do all I can for the people”, she stated.
