Fubara Reveals State Finances: ₦300bn Before Emergency Rule, ₦600bn on Return

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has stated that there was over ₦300 billion in the state treasury before President Bola Tinubu declared emergency rule and suspended his administration in March.

The emergency rule, imposed amid a political crisis, suspended Governor Fubara, his deputy, and the State House of Assembly for six months.

Speaking on Wednesday during a project commissioning in Ahoada, Governor Fubara revealed that upon resuming office in September, he met approximately ₦600 billion in the state’s accounts. He described this significant increase as proof of his administration’s prudent financial management during his tenure.
